- Zorin OS: IS a good easy to utilize Linux distribution designed for Windows and Mac converters.
- Mint OS: This is a good general use Linux distribution.
- Kubuntu: Is a distribution using a windows like desktop environment with customization.
- Sytem76 Pop OS: This is a good distribution for developers converting from Windows to Linux.
Where to purchase laptops / desktops?
There are numerous purchasing options:
- Vast majory of windows systems can be wiped and load a linux OS. However research the specific model and warenty as updating OS might void warenty.
- Dell has options to purchase systems with Ubuntu. Search their website.
- System76 is based in USA and creates laptops and desktops with Linux.
- They offer two Linux options
- POP OS Which is their open soruce Linux OS based on Ubuntu.
- Ubuntu LTS.
- They offer two Linux options
- Tuxedo Computers offers systems built and ship with Linux.
- They have their own LInux distribution Tuxedo OS based on Ubuntu.
- They also provide options for windows if you need VM or dual boot with multiple drives.
- They are headquarted outside of US in Germany and therefore could cost additonal shipping fees, taxes, etc.
- There are still other options however when you do your searh ensure you look where company is located as this will determine if extra taxes, shiping fees, etc. will need to be applied.
Can I load Linux on my current Windows system?
